Role Overview:
We are seeking a Network And System Engineer to optimize and maintain our latency trading network across various co-lo trading setups as well as trading systems based on Linux. The role involves managing network configurations, troubleshooting issues, and implementing automation to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in routing, switching and Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL). Hands-on opportunity to collaborate directly with systems and trading teams directly.
What You'll Work On:
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, network optimization.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Providing hands-on network support for production issues related to Colo/trading, office, and data center environments
- Network Automation which includes pushing/updating configuration of multiple infra devices
- Provide direct technical support of Linux and related technology in a production/live trading environment
- Provide direct technical support for networking issues and related areas in the production/live trading environment on Linux servers.
- Knowledge of Multicast routing, PIM, IGMP protocols etc.
- Setup and Troubleshooting of Linux based servers, including supporting hardware changes, software installations, and upgrades.
- Build automated systems to report issues in live trading in real time.
- Monitor and partly manage day-to-day operations of the trading teams
- Building systems for day-to-day management of critical files, configs and backing up relevant data from production.
What We're Looking For:
- Engineering degree in Computer Science (preferred) or any other discipline with 2 - 5 years of experience
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is a plus
- Exposure to AWS will be an advantage
- Ability to set up and configure trading server hardware.
- Expertise with VPNs and Firewall (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto)
- Experience in Routing and Switching (VLANs, Inter VLAN routing, VTP, STP, Ether channel, Layer 3, Static routing, Dynamic Routing Protocols)
- Knowledge of Linux and Shell/Python scripting
- Hands on experience in Monitoring Tools, preferably in the financial industry
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high priority projects
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and leverage LLMs safely to speed up turnaround time while maintaining correctness.
- Understanding of Indian Exchanges and their infrastructure will be a bonus.
- Good communication skills as you are expected to co-ordinate with multiple teams and individuals on a daily basis for production critical things.
