Network Security Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and maintain secure network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting organizational systems and data from cyber threats while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure network architectures Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents Perform vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and penetration testing; recommend remediation actions Configure and maintain security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and network monitoring systems Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS) Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and application teams to integrate security best practices Manage firewall rules, access controls, and network segmentation Conduct regular security audits and provide detailed reports to stakeholders Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field 3+ years of experience in network security or network engineering Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), VPNs, and IDS/IPS Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis Solid understanding of network security principles, threat modeling, and incident response

Preferred Qualifications Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, or equivalent Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Familiarity with zero-trust architecture and modern security frameworks Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) Experience in automation and security orchestration
