Network operations Engineer

The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and availability of network services across routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and data centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, install, and maintain network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.
• Perform daily operational support, system upgrades, patches, and security configurations for network infrastructure and data centers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network performance, connectivity, and configuration issues.
• Monitor network performance, system resource utilization, and ensure high availability and reliability of services.
• Conduct research into networking issues and recommend improvements to optimize performance.
• Coordinate with engineering, technical teams, and customers on new implementations and ongoing network operations.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, topology, and operational procedures.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis, including after-hours and weekends.
• Ensure adherence to network standards, enterprise security practices, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in data networks, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
• Professional network certification such as CCNA or equivalent is a plus.
• Experience with enterprise-class LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network implementations.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, IPSEC, SSL/TLS, DHCP, DNS, and other networking protocols.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and packet analysis tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
• Understanding of enterprise switching (Spine-Leaf), IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6), and service provider networking (L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN).
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
