Network Engineer Skills Summary
Core Networking Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Routing Protocols – OSPF and BGP
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, subnetting, segmentation, and route design
- Experience working with enterprise firewalls, switches, and security policies
Security & Firewall Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (must-have)
- Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions; Versa SD-WAN experience is a strong plus
Cloud Networking
- AWS: BGP integration, routing architecture, connectivity setup
- Azure: VNet design, routing, interconnectivity
Troubleshooting & Operations
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues across on-prem and cloud environments
- Experience operating and supporting multi-site enterprise networks
- Ownership of end-to-end networking tasks (not limited to L1/L2 ticketing)
Experience Level
- 3–7 years of hands-on network engineering experience (flexible based on capability)
