About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our dynamic team on a remote basis for a contract duration of 12+ months. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Cisco networking and will play a crucial role in executing complex network migration and separation projects. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can configure, deploy, and support advanced network solutions, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to ongoing operations. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality services, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network performance using industry-leading tools.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Cisco networking solutions. A valid CCNP certification or equivalent is required, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of enterprise network architectures. Strong expertise in OSPF, BGP, SD-WAN, and IOS XE switching is essential. Candidates should have prior experience managing network migrations or divestitures, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills are also necessary for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Execute Cisco-based network migration and separation projects, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
- Configure and manage routing protocols including OSPF and BGP to optimize network performance and reliability.
- Deploy and support SD-WAN solutions and IOS XE switching infrastructure to enhance network agility and security.
- Monitor network performance using tools such as ThousandEyes and SolarWinds, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Provide build and operational support during transition phases, including documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions effectively.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and best practices to recommend improvements and innovations.
