Network Automation Engineer

Computacenter India is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Senior Network Engineer with strong core networking expertise and a proven network automation background. The role combines traditional Level 3 network operations with Dev/NetOps ways of working to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, accelerate change delivery and strengthen service reliability.

The successful candidate will support and improve critical network infrastructure across global Computacenter offices, while actively building reusable automation, validation and self-service capabilities for recurring operational and project activities.

What you'll do

• Own and complete network operations and project tasks in line with the guidelines set by the Networks team, ensuring adherence to SLAs and committed timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across Computacenter offices worldwide, working closely with service desk, OCC/MIM, platform teams, vendors and other IT stakeholders.
• Drive controlled change implementation by coordinating across teams, initiating RFCs where required and implementing permanent fixes to avoid repeat incidents.
• Monitor network performance, system availability, reliability, resource utilisation, trend data and capacity requirements using monitoring, diagnostic and analytics tools.
• Perform network maintenance and upgrades, including patches, hot fixes, security configurations and lifecycle activities.
• Provide technical leadership, decision support and clear communication to managers, key stakeholders and operational teams.
• Contribute to knowledge management by documenting standards, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, automation usage patterns and operational lessons learned.

What you'll need

• 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in managing critical enterprise network infrastructure across routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, WAN/LAN and datacentre technologies.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on network automation experience is mandatory, including practical delivery using scripting, APIs, version control and automation/orchestration tools in operations or projects.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on network automation experience in operations, engineering or delivery environments.
• Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• CCNA or CCNP certification is desired; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
• Experience in project deployment or operational transformation activities such as SD-WAN rollouts, datacentre network changes, firewall migrations, wireless upgrades or automation-led operational improvements is an advantage.
