Netcool L1/L

We are looking for a skilled Netcool - L1/L2 Support Engineer with hands-on technical expertise in the IBM Netcool product suite. In this role, you will be responsible for real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network and IT infrastructure management systems for complex enterprise and telecom environments.

Key Responsibilities

• IBM Netcool Operations: Utilize IBM Netcool components, including Netcool Omnibus and Netcool Impact, for third-party database integrations, creating operator views, and managing REST/SOAP WebServices and SNMP integrations.
• Policy & Correlation Management: Develop and maintain Netcool Impact policies for event correlation, enrichment, and automated workflows.
• Integrations: Connect external OSS/ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy), notification systems (SMS/Email), and inventory management platforms with Netcool using probes and gateways.
• Probes & Gateways: Configure, troubleshoot, and integrate EMS/OSS applications into Netcool using standard/custom probes and gateways.
• Protocol & Network Knowledge: Work across IT network protocols (SNMP, MIB, Syslog, CORBA, LogFile) and vendor-specific platforms (Nokia Netact, Huawei U2000, Alcatel).
• Testing & Support: Conduct unit testing, end-to-end integration testing, defect resolution, and regular sanity checks for smooth operational deployment.
• Mentorship & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist junior support engineers, conduct performance tuning for probe rules, and implement Netcool operational best practices.

Key Requirements

• Core Expertise: 2-5 years of dedicated hands-on support experience with IBM Netcool products (not just as an end-user/operator).
• Database Knowledge: Working knowledge of relational databases such as IBM DB2 and Oracle SQL.
• Domain Experience: Prior experience in the Telecom OSS/BSS domain is strongly preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills to work independently in fast-paced production environments.
