Role Overview:
The Storage & Data Protection SME will lead the planning, assessment, and implementation of immutable backup and data protection capabilities across multiple sites. This role partners with application teams, storage teams, and business units to ensure accurate data classification, retention alignment, and successful onboarding into the immutable backup platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop program objectives, scope, and project schedules for immutable backup implementation.
- Coordinate with storage, backup, and application teams to implement data protection and DR requirements.
- Collect and validate NAS paths, application mappings, classifications, and retention details.
- Map datasets to applications, capture RTO/RPO, and document dependencies.
- Define immutability needs, ServiceNow tagging, and CMDB CI requirements.
- Facilitate business reviews, workshops, and survey completion.
- Plan and support rollout of Dell Data Domain appliances and onboarding activities.
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and provide weekly reporting to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with CTO policies, data classification, and retention standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science/IT; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in storage, data protection, and backup technologies.
- Strong knowledge of NAS platforms, cloud storage, immutable backups, and retention policies.
- Proficiency with Diskover, ServiceNow, CMDB, and enterprise backup tools (e.g., Rubrik).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
