Business Analyst – Telecom (USSD)
Location: Gurgaon (Onsite)

Experience: 2–5 years (Telecom domain preferred)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in telecom, particularly in USSD technology, telecom network architecture, and API-based integrations. The role involves acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, requires end-to-end ownership of requirement analysis, Impact Anaysis (IA) definition and detailed documentation (BRD/FSD), technical teams to analyze, document, and validate requirements for USSD-based services and system integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for USSD-based services and telecom network integrations.
- Develop and maintain detailed USSD call flow diagrams, sequence flows, and system interaction charts.
- Knowledge of any tool such as draw.io, Lucidchart, Microsoft Visio, or PlantUML to visually model USSD sessions and API interactions.
- Understand and interpret USSD Gateway architecture, including MSC, HLR, IN, and application platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define end-to-end technical solutions for USSD and API-driven services.
- Analyze and validate RESTful APIs with HTTP methods and JSON data structures.
- Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements (BRD, FSD, Use Cases, Sequence Diagrams).
- Participate in and support UAT testing and integration testing with APIs and USSD services.
- Basic understanding of deployment models, particularly VM-based environments (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud-based deployments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Learn & create documentation for deployment architecture, capacity requirements, and scaling considerations.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong understanding of USSD call flow (MO, MT, session lifecycle).
- Knowledge of telecom network components: USSD Gateway, SMSC, HLR, MSC, IN, etc.
- Proficiency in interpreting and documenting REST APIs (HTTP, JSON).
- Ability to create sequence diagrams, flowcharts, and architecture diagrams.
- Solid documentation and requirement management skills.
- Create comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRD) covering scope, objectives, business rules, and process flows.
- Prepare detailed Impact Analysis (IA) & Functional Specification Documents (FSD) including:
- Functional flows
- Use cases and user journeys
- Data mapping and field-level details
- API Mapping with functional flows
- Validation of business rules and exception scenarios
- Ensure traceability between business requirements and functional specifications
Customer and Stakeholders Management
- Act as the primary interface between customer, business, and technical teams.
- Lead requirement discussions, workshops, and solution walkthroughs with customers.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates, clarify queries, and address feedback in a timely manner.
- Drive requirement sign-off and ensure proper documentation approvals.
- Support SIT/UAT test scenarios and validating outputs against requirements.
- Work closely with Operation, Development and engineering teams to ensure correct implementation.
Good To Have Skills:
- Experience in VAS telecom domain.
- Some working knowledge of SOAP/XML APIs.
- Familiarity with SQL and basic data querying.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira, Confluence.
- Exposure to VM-based (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, KVM) and cloud-based deployments (e.g., AWS EC2, Azure VMs, Kubernetes).
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor of Engineering / Tech - degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science,
MCA, MSC-Tech (Computer Science / Information Technology)
