NDT Technician – Civil Structures

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct NDT inspections on civil structures such as:
• Buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels, plants and foundations
• Perform testing using methods including:
• Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV)
• Rebound Hammer Test
• Half-Cell Potential Measurement
• Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
• Core Sampling (as required)
• Cover Meter Survey (Rebar detection)
• Infrared Thermography (if applicable)
• Inspect structural elements like concrete, reinforcement steel, welds, and joints.
• Identify cracks, voids, corrosion, honeycombing, and other defects.
• Interpret test data and provide condition assessment reports.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports with observations, test results, and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IS codes, ASTM, BS, EN).
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
• Coordinate with site engineers, structural consultants, and project managers.
• Follow safety procedures and site regulations during inspections.
