Role Overview:
The Naval Architect will play a key role in supporting project teams with deep technical expertise in ship design, construction, and optimization. This is an 8-month contractual role, ideal for professionals with hands-on shipbuilding experience who can contribute technical insights and collaborate closely with both client consultants and client teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert input on ship design, construction processes, and system optimization.
Conduct hydrostatic, stability, and structural analyses to support design validation.
Review engineering drawings, design documentation, and classification compliance.
Support client discussions and workshops with technical and operational insights.
Collaborate with shipyards, engineering teams, and classification societies.
Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and recommendations for improvements.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture from a recognized institution.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry (commercial, naval, or offshore vessels).
Technical Proficiency:
o Ship design and structural analysis
o Familiarity with classification society standards (ABS, DNV, IRS, etc.)
o Experience with naval architecture software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf, NAPA, GHS, ShipConstructor)
o Strong understanding of hydrodynamics, stability, and strength assessments
Location: Based in Mumbai (or available to work on-site as required).
