Job Title: National Sales Manager – Yeast Products

About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead business growth for its Distillers Yeast and related product portfolio across India. The role involves developing strategic relationships with customers in the ethanol production business through molasses and grain fermentation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical understanding of yeast-based products and applications, combined with excellent commercial acumen and customer engagement skills. This role requires extensive travel across India and close collaboration with technical, marketing, regulatory, and operations teams to drive sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Drive sales revenue and market expansion for the company's yeast product portfolio pan India.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Build and execute regional sales strategies aligned with annual business objectives.
- Develop long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Customer Management
- Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, product presentations, and commercial negotiations.
- Understand customer processes and be able to recommend suitable yeast-based solutions.
- Handle key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Handhold customers during product trials, validations, and implementation phases.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and other emerging technologies.
- Provide regular market feedback to management for product positioning and portfolio enhancement.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with technical support, R&D, supply chain, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure seamless customer service.
- Collaborate with internal teams for forecasting, inventory planning, and sales reporting.
- Identify execution gaps, bottlenecks, and risks early, pushing for timely resolution.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry networking events.
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain sales forecasts, CRM updates, pipeline reports, and customer records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical business practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role – selling Distiller's yeast for a yeast marketing company is highly preferable.
- BSc/MSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 3–10 years of relevant experience in B2B product sales roles – especially Yeast Products.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing large territories.
- Experience handling Pan India sales operations is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to cross-work with scientific, operational, and leadership teams.
- Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
- Existing network within biotech, fermentation, brewing, pharma, and/or food manufacturing industries.
- Experience developing/working with distributors and channel partners across India.
- Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements related to fermentation products.
- MBA in Sales/Marketing is an added advantage.
