Role Overview
The National Head Uber Business will be responsible for driving the strategic partnership and the commercial relationship between the organization and Uber. This leader will manage fleet scale-up, operational efficiency, business growth, and profitability of EVs deployed through Uber's platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for Uber at the national level.
- Define and execute the roadmap for scaling EVs on Uber's platform (Rentals, Premier). Autocar Pro
- Negotiate commercial contracts, SLAs, and revenue-sharing models.
- Collaborate closely with Uber's leadership (India & South Asia) to align on business objectives.
- Fleet Scaling & Operations:
- Plan and oversee the rollout of the organization's EV fleet under the Uber partnership in key markets
- Work with operations teams to ensure high vehicle utilization and availability.
- Coordinate with the charging infrastructure team to ensure adequate charging capacity in Uber cities. Uber
- Monitor key fleet KPIs: uptime, maintenance cost, charger utilization, downtime, cost per km, etc.
- Financial Management:
- Build financial models for the Uber business vertical (revenue, costs, margin).
- Forecast business growth, capex / opex needs for scaling EV deployment under Uber.
- Ensure financial targets (growth, profitability) are met or exceeded.
- Business Development & Expansion:
- Identify new cities or Uber categories (e.g., other service lines) for partnership expansion.
- Work on go-to-market strategy with cross-functional teams (Operations, Tech, Infrastructure).
- Explore co-marketing initiatives, joint programs, or pilot projects with Uber (e.g., EV- only rides, green rider incentives).
- Cross-functional Leadership:
- Lead a team comprising operations, fleet management, business analysts, and commercial leads.
- Liaise with product/tech team to build or improve analytics, telematics, and scheduling systems tailored for Uber operations.
- Work with the infrastructure team (charging) to align capacity planning with Uber fleet demand.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and regulatory teams for permits, EV policy, and partnership compliance.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish KPIs (growth, utilization, profitability) and monitor them regularly.
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly business review (P&L, fleet strategy, pipeline) to senior leadership.
- Use data-driven insights to drive operational improvements, cost optimization, and customer experience.
- Sustainability & Brand:
- Represent the organization in external forums / with Uber for sustainability-focused initiatives
- Contribute to the organization's mission of reducing emissions and promoting green mobility.
- Explore and initiate CSR or sustainability programs in partnership with Uber (e.g., green kilometres, carbon credits).
Required Experience & Skills
Education: MBA or equivalent in Business, Operations, or Strategy.
Work Experience
- 10+ years in business development, operations, or P&L leadership roles.
- Proven experience in fleet operations, shared mobility, or EV space is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing large-scale partnerships / alliances with tech platforms or marketplaces.
