Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the national strategy for the Loan Against Property (LAP) business to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
  • Lead the business development and growth initiatives for LAP, focusing on key market segments and regions.
  • Define and drive the overall business model for LAP, including pricing, underwriting, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of business goals with organizational objectives to drive sustained growth.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a nationwide team of relationship managers, sales executives, and credit officers.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development programs to build a high-performing team capable of meeting and exceeding business targets.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-oriented team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key business clients, including SMEs, mid-market companies, and large corporates.
  • Ensure the provision of superior service to business clients, handling complex queries, escalations, and relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and offer tailored financial solutions.

Revenue and Profitability Management:

  • Drive the LAP portfolio growth, ensuring the achievement of revenue, profitability, and risk management targets.
  • Monitor and manage the P&L for the LAP business, ensuring efficient cost management and resource allocation.
  • Design and implement cross-sell and up-sell strategies to maximize revenue from existing clients.

Risk and Compliance Management:

  • Ensure the effective management of credit, operational, and market risks associated with the LAP portfolio.
  • Oversee the risk assessment, underwriting processes, and credit quality to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the credit team to ensure the maintenance of asset quality and adherence to lending standards.

Market Analysis and Business Development:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and threats.
  • Lead market research initiatives to identify new customer segments, regions, and distribution channels for LAP products.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to design and roll out promotional campaigns for the LAP business.

Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Regularly report to senior management on the performance of the LAP business, including financial metrics, KPIs, and market performance.
  • Utilize data and analytics to evaluate performance and identify areas of improvement.

Key Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on business banking, corporate lending, or mortgage products.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role, managing teams and driving business strategies for LAP or similar financial products.
  • Proven experience in managing large portfolios, client relationships, and developing strategic initiatives for growth in the LAP business.

  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial markets, business lending products, and key drivers of profitability.
