Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled MySQL Application Database Engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience in database development, performance tuning, and application support. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in MySQL, advanced SQL, and database optimization techniques, with the ability to support high-performance, large-scale applications.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform query performance tuning and optimization for complex SQL queries
- Develop, maintain, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and database objects
- Analyze and validate data based on business requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues within applications
- Monitor database performance using logs (error logs, slow query logs) and tuning tools
- Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database solutions
- Document database schemas, data models, and mappings (e.g., V1V2 transformations)
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and availability
- Support database deployments, migrations, and version control processes
- Handle production support for high-transaction applications
Required Skills & Experience
- 46 years of experience in database engineering or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL (or other RDBMS such as Oracle / MS SQL Server)
- Proficiency in advanced SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations, query optimization)
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts
- Experience analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries
- Experience working with large datasets and high-volume systems
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with database performance monitoring tools
- Knowledge of indexing strategies and table partitioning
- Exposure to ETL processes and data pipelines
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Tools & Technologies
- Database: MySQL (primary), Oracle / MS SQL Server (secondary)
- Querying: Advanced SQL
- Version Control: Git (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket)
- Monitoring: Database logs, performance monitoring tools
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
