Qualifications and skills
- Education: A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (preferably Geography)
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching IB MYP or DP Individuals and Societies courses.
- Minimum 3-5 years of full-time teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
- Experience in an international, multi-cultural environment is preferred.
- Language: Fluency and accuracy in both written and spoken English.
- Technology: Competency in using technology creatively and effectively in the classroom.
Core responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based units that integrate multiple disciplines within the humanities and social sciences.
- Student Engagement: Inspire students to inquire into local, national, and global issues, fostering an understanding of human and environmental diversity and interdependence.
- Skill Development: Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills (communication, social, self-management, research, and thinking) to empower students to be active, independent learners.
- Assessment: Assess student work using the MYP's criteria and provide feedback that promotes a growth mindset.
- Holistic Education: Educate students holistically, helping them to connect their studies to the real world and develop a commitment to acting as responsible citizens.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other national and international staff to create a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
