Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate educator to teach
Chemistry across MYP & IGCSE and
Environmental Systems & Societies (ESS) for IBDP. The role involves delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with international curricula while fostering critical thinking and real-world application.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons for MYP & IGCSE and ESS for IBDP
- Use inquiry-based and interdisciplinary approaches aligned with IB philosophy
- Design engaging lesson plans incorporating experiments, case studies, and real-world contexts
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Curriculum Planning
- Develop and implement curriculum in line with IB (MYP & DP) and Cambridge IGCSE frameworks
- Create unit planners, lesson plans, and learning resources
- Integrate sustainability, environmental awareness, and global perspectives in ESS
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design formative and summative assessments as per IB & IGCSE standards
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Encourage student participation, collaboration, and independent thinking
Lab & Practical Work
- Plan and supervise laboratory experiments safely and effectively
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of lab equipment
- Promote scientific inquiry and investigation skills
Student Development
- Support students in Extended Essays (ESS/Chemistry) and Internal Assessments (IA)
- Mentor students for academic and personal growth
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with coordinators and colleagues for curriculum alignment
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Chemistry / Environmental Science or related field
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience in IB MYP, IBDP (ESS), and/or Cambridge IGCSE preferred
- Strong understanding of IB pedagogy and assessment practices
Skills & Competencies
Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry & Environmental Science
Inquiry-based teaching approach
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to integrate technology in teaching
