Job Summary
The Career Counsellor cum IB English Facilitator will support students in academic, personal, and career development while also teaching English as per the philosophy and curriculum of the International Baccalaureate. The role focuses on guiding students in career planning, university pathways, and developing strong communication and language skills through effective English instruction.
Key ResponsibilitiesCareer Counselling Responsibilities
- Provide career guidance and counselling to students regarding higher education and career pathways.
- Assist students in selecting subject combinations aligned with their career interests and academic strengths.
- Guide students through international university application processes, including personal statements, references, and documentation.
- Maintain updated information on global universities, scholarships, and admission requirements.
- Conduct career awareness sessions, workshops, and university fairs.
- Administer career assessments and aptitude tests to help students identify their interests and abilities.
- Maintain records of student counselling sessions and career plans.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school leadership to support students future planning.
IB English Teaching Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the International Baccalaureate teaching methodology.
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that encourage inquiry-based and critical thinking skills.
- Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in curriculum planning, school activities, and academic meetings.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in English / Psychology / Counselling / Education or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Certification in Career Counselling or Guidance is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in teaching English or career counselling.
- Experience in International Schools or IB curriculum preferred.
