About the Company: The MYP & DP English Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students in the International Baccalaureate (IB). The teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love for the English.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning and Delivery:
- Design and implement MYP&DP English curriculum in alignment with IB standards.
- Develop and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Create and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student progress.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Stay current with educational best practices and IB developments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share strategies and resources.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Prepare progress reports and conduct parent-teacher conferences.
- Engage in regular collaboration with the IB Coordinator and other faculty members.
- Extracurricular Involvement:
- Support and participate in school events and extracurricular activities.
- Mentor students and contribute to their holistic development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Teaching certification/licensure for the relevant grade level.
- Experience teaching in the IB Middle Years & DP Programme preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MYP&DP philosophy, framework, and assessment criteria.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
