Role OverviewThe Head of Mutual Fund Distribution will be responsible for building and scaling the mutual fund distribution vertical of Vanmoh Finserv. The role includes setting up the distribution business, managing partnerships with AMCs, building a sales team, driving AUM growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing investment products for clients.
This is a leadership role responsible for revenue, AUM growth, team building, and overall mutual fund business strategy.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Setup & Strategy- Build and launch the mutual fund distribution vertical
- Register and manage ARN and compliance requirements
- Onboard mutual fund companies (AMCs)
- Develop product and investment strategy for clients
- Create SIP, lump sum, and goal-based investment solutions
- Define pricing, commission, and revenue model
- Set AUM growth targets and expansion strategy
2. Sales & Distribution- Build and manage mutual fund sales team
- Develop distributor and partner network
- Drive SIP registrations and monthly inflows
- Work with internal teams for cross-selling to existing customers
- Conduct investor awareness programs and webinars
- Develop HNI and retail investment segments
3. Partnerships & AMC Relations- Maintain relationships with AMCs
- Negotiate commissions and marketing support
- Launch NFO campaigns and investment products
- Coordinate with RTAs like CAMS and KFintech
- Manage empanelments and compliance documentation
4. Operations & Compliance- Ensure compliance with SEBI and AMFI regulations
- Monitor KYC, FATCA, and documentation processes
- Oversee transaction processing and reporting
- Manage investor reporting and portfolio statements
- Ensure audit and compliance requirements are met
5. Product & Investment Advisory- Create model portfolios and investment baskets
- Recommend asset allocation strategies
- Launch goal-based investment plans
- Monitor fund performance and portfolio rebalancing
- Provide investment insights and reports to clients
6. Team Building- Hire and train mutual fund advisors and relationship managers
- Set sales targets and incentives
- Build SOPs for sales and operations
- Develop training programs for investment advisory
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Assets Under Management (AUM)
- Monthly SIP inflows
- Number of active investors
- Revenue from mutual fund commissions
- Number of distributors/partners onboarded
- Client retention rate
- Cross-sell ratio from existing customers
Qualification & Experience- AMFI Certified NISM V certification
- ARN Holder preferred
- 510+ years experience in mutual fund distribution / wealth management
- Experience working with AMCs, Wealth Firms, NBFCs, or Banks
- Experience in building and managing sales teams
- Strong knowledge of mutual funds, financial products, and investments
- Understanding of SEBI / AMFI regulations
- Experience in AUM growth and distribution business
