Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chennai for a Music Teacher at Milton International School. The Music Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging music lessons, teaching music theory and performance, fostering students musical talents, and developing their appreciation for music. Duties include conducting individual and group sessions, organizing school concerts and performances, and inspiring students creativity and enthusiasm for music while working collaboratively with other educators and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Western music lessons aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards
• Teach theory, practical skills, and appreciation of Western music across different grade levels
• Organize and lead school music events, concerts, and performances
• Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into broader school programs
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music or Music Education (Western specialization preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school setting
• Proficiency in Western instruments (Piano, Guitar, Violin, or similar)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Cambridge/IGCSE curriculum is an added advantage
