Role Overview
We are looking for a Museum Interior / Exhibition Designer who can translate narratives into spatial experiences. The role involves designing immersive, culturally rooted, and visitor-centric environments for museums, galleries, and interpretation centers.
The ideal candidate should be able to merge architecture, storytelling, materiality, and visual communication into cohesive exhibition environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual design strategies for museum galleries and exhibition spaces
- Translate curatorial narratives into spatial layouts, zoning, and visitor journeys
- Design display systems (showcases, panels, plinths, interactive zones)
- Integrate lighting, graphics, and multimedia elements within the space
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, and presentation visuals
- Coordinate with content writers, graphic designers, historians, and consultants
- Ensure alignment with project budgets, timelines, and execution feasibility
- Supervise design intent during site execution and installation phases
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong concept development and storytelling ability
- Understanding of visitor experience design and circulation planning
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and exhibit fabrication techniques
- Sensitivity towards cultural context, heritage, and craft integration
- Proficiency in:
- SketchUp / Rhino / AutoCAD
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's in Architecture / Interior Design / Exhibition Design
- Relevant experience in:
- Museums / galleries
- Exhibition or experiential design
- Set design / cultural spaces (preferred)
Preferred Attributes (Bonus)
- Experience with interactive exhibits (AR/VR, digital installations)
- Exposure to wayfinding and graphic systems
- Interest in history, culture, and public spaces
- Experience in government / institutional projects
Deliverables Expected
- Concept sheets and story-driven design presentations

- Coordination drawings with graphics and services integration
- Site-level inputs for execution quality control
