Role Description The Museum Curator at S.N. & Company will oversee the planning, development, and management of museum collections and exhibitions, ensuring they reflect historical accuracy, cultural relevance, and engaging storytelling. This full-time, on-site role, based in Lucknow, involves developing exhibition concepts, coordinating with designers and project teams, and supervising the documentation, cataloging, and conservation of artifacts. The curator will research and identify objects for acquisition or loan, maintain accurate records, and ensure adherence to museum standards and ethical guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with educators on interpretive materials, guiding the creation of labels and catalogs, and supporting visitor engagement through tours, talks, or educational programs. The role also involves liaising with government bodies, historians, subject-matter experts, and vendors to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in Museology and Museum Studies, with the ability to apply best practices in exhibition planning, interpretation, and visitor experience.
  • Proficiency in Collections Management and Museum Collections, including cataloging, documentation, preservation standards, and collection care procedures.
  • Knowledge of Archaeology and related heritage disciplines, with the capacity to research, analyze, and contextualize artifacts and primary sources.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in Museum Education, including developing educational materials, public programs, and interpretive content for diverse audiences.
  • Relevant academic qualification such as a master's degree or diploma in Museology, Archaeology, History, Art History, Heritage Management, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear exhibition texts, reports, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams on-site.
  • Familiarity with museum cataloging software or digital collection management tools, and comfort with basic office and collaboration software.
