Role Overview
The Associate Derivatives Operations Technology will support and execute technology delivery for Derivatives Operations, covering Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements, with hands-on responsibility for analysis, development, testing, and BAU support on the Murex platform.
This is an execution-focused role working under the guidance of senior team members, contributing directly to both BAU and project initiatives, including configuration and development within Murex.
Key Responsibilities
Derivatives Operations Functional Support
- Support operational workflows across Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements.
- Assist with analysis and documentation of business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications.
- Work closely with Operations users to understand day-to-day issues, enhancement needs, and control requirements.
Murex Development & Platform Support
- Perform hands-on development and configuration in Murex to support Derivatives Operations requirements.
- Build and enhance Murex workflows and reports, configurations, and functional components under senior guidance.
- Support analysis, implementation, and validation of Murex changes across Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements.
- Work directly with other team members on end-to-end delivery.
Testing & Delivery Execution
- Design, prepare, and execute test cases for functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT.
- Validate Murex developments against business requirements and operational expectations.
- Log, track, and retest defects through to resolution.
- Support release preparation and post-release validation activities.
- Coordinate with L1 support teams during testing and release phases to ensure readiness for BAU handover.
BAU & Production Support
- Support BAU activities including issue investigation, impact analysis, and documentation.
- Assist with root cause analysis and validation of fixes for production incidents.
- Help maintain operational stability for Middle Office, Confirmations, and Settlements processes supported in Murex.
- Work closely with L1 support teams to support incident triage, escalation, and resolution.
- Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer, documentation, and handover to L1 support for new or changed functionality.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience or strong exposure to Derivatives Operations, including Middle Office, Confirmations, and/or Settlements.
- Hands-on experience developing or configuring in Murex, especially on workflows and datamart.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, execution-focused role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with testing, UAT coordination, or production support.
- Familiarity with issue tracking and documentation tools (e.g., JIRA or equivalent).
