Job Summary
Synechron seeks an experienced MTS QA Test Lead to direct end-to-end quality assurance activities for ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) implementations, upgrades, and integrations. This role combines deep payments-domain knowledge with QA leadership to define testing strategies, govern execution, manage defects, and report progress to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality, compliant, and reliable payment processing across multiple client environments and locations.
Software Requirements
Required Skills (Essential)
- Strong hands-on knowledge of ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) and payment processing applications
- In-depth understanding of payment message flows, clearing and settlement processes, and financial messaging standards
- Experience with SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, CHIPS, Fedwire, pacs, and camt message formats
- Extensive QA lifecycle expertise including test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and reporting
- Ability to lead test teams, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and manage testing deliverables
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA
- Familiarity with release management practices and tools (Git or equivalents) is preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, ownership, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Finacle/other core banking integrations experience is a plus
- Banking/regulatory awareness and data security considerations
- Experience with CI/CD processes, automation, and test automation frameworks
- Cloud deployment exposure in banking contexts
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead QA and testing activities for MTS projects, including implementation, migration, enhancement, and upgrades
- Define and own the QA strategy, test approaches, test plans, data strategy, and execution governance for MTS engagements
- Validate payment message formats and flows across SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, and related standards
- Prepare detailed test scenarios and test cases for MTS components (DM, CSM)
- Execute end-to-end functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing across payment workflows
- Prepare and maintain test environments, data, and scenario setups
- Coordinate defect triage, retesting, validation of fixes, and closure with development and business teams
- Track and report test progress, quality metrics, risks, and issues to stakeholders
- Manage test execution in JIRA or equivalent platforms; ensure quality ownership and continuous QA improvements

Programming Languages (Essential & Preferred)
- Essential: Proficiency in Java or equivalent; scripting knowledge for test automation is a plus
- Preferred: Python or other scripting languages for test automation support
Databases/Data Management
- Essential: SQL-based data validation and reconciliation skills; experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
- Preferred: Data modeling, data quality checks, data lineage concepts
Cloud Technologies
- Preferred: Cloud deployment exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP) in payments contexts
- Essential: General understanding of cloud environments and release considerations
Frameworks and Libraries
- Essential: Vision for test design and automation frameworks; API validation approaches

Experience Requirements
- 6 to 10 years of relevant QA/testing experience, with a strong emphasis on banking/payments domains
- Demonstrated success delivering end-to-end QA for MTS or similar payment platforms
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with regulated environments and governance/compliance considerations
- Alternative pathways: extensive hands-on MTS testing leadership, or relevant industry certifications
Day-to-Day Activities
- Lead requirement analysis, test planning, and test design for MTS projects
- Guide and mentor QA engineers; oversee test data management and test environments
- Execute and monitor functional, integration, regression, SIT, and UAT testing
- Manage defect lifecycle, triage, retesting, and closure with development teams
- Collaborate with product, delivery, QA, and operations to ensure alignment and quality
- Prepare test reports, metrics dashboards, and executive summaries
- Participate in status meetings, risk assessments, and project governance reviews
- Support deployment readiness, patching, and post-go-live stabilization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certifications in QA/testing or payments/financial services are advantageous
