The Position: MTS III , Software Traffic Shaping
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative
Network Engineer with strong expertise in
Network Operations, Traffic Engineering, and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching to join our next-generation Traffic Management Platform team. This role will focus on designing, building, and optimizing high-performance network services within SD-WAN and cloud-native environments.
You will work closely with Software and DevOps teams to integrate REST APIs, automate configurations, orchestrate virtual appliances, and ensure production-grade reliability.
Responsibilities
We're looking for a Network Engineer who is:
- Define technology roadmaps for traffic engineering and network infrastructure, aligning network architecture with long-term business and platform requirements.
- Perform network modeling, performance analysis, and capacity planning to support scalable traffic management and high-throughput network environment.
- Design and Develop network traffic management solutions, including policy enforcement, traffic shaping, and service optimization.
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, deployment procedures, and operational methodologies (MOPs) to support large-scale production deployments.
- Lead the integration of distributed network components and services, identify bottlenecks, and improve system-level network performance.
- Provide technical oversight for network infrastructure operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and high availability of production environments.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, onshore cross-functional teams, suppliers/ vendors for requirements, design, implementation and issue-triaging.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and solution design for transformation initiatives.
- Lead development teams by overseeing junior developers, contractors; by providing technical mentorship; and by ensuring end-to-end ownership of solution design, implementation, and deployment.
- Review, evaluate, and analyze test, deployment and rollback procedures for new implementations and change requests
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to implementations timely.
- Perform day-to-day Operations in Agile manner and lead Agile ceremonies at Scrum team level.
Network Architecture & Engineering
- Extensive expertise in network technologies and architecture, including design and integration of distributed network infrastructures across diverse environments.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols, including Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, VLAN design, and network segmentation strategies.
- Strong experience with network traffic management, performance optimization, and capacity planning in large-scale environments.
Infrastructure Platforms
- Advanced proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems, including system administration, performance diagnostics, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V for deploying and operating virtualized network functions (NFV).
Network Operations & Deployment
- Experienced in network maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure lifecycle management in production environments.
- Ability to lead technical implementations, network deployments, and infrastructure projects, including new service rollouts and platform upgrades.
- Experienced in IT automation tools like Ansible for configuration management, application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
Integration & Platform Collaboration
- Familiarity with API-driven infrastructure integration to support network service platforms and operational workflows.
Professional Capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills in complex distributed network environments.
- Ability to operate in production environments with on-call responsibilities and cross-regional collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering with 8+ years of experience in network engineering, traffic management platforms, or large-scale network infrastructure environments. Master's degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of network platform development environments and operational workflows, including collaboration with onsite, architecture, product & software engineering teams.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum-based development environments, supporting iterative delivery of network and platform capabilities.
- Solid understanding of system design lifecycle, deployment processes, and production network operations.
