The Position: MTS III Automation Engineer
Panasonic Avionics is the world's leading supplier of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems, enabling passengers to access live TV, movies, music, games, and more during their journey.We are seeking an Automation Engineer with experience in network automation, API integration, and infrastructure scripting to support the development and validation of a next-generation Traffic Management Platform. The role involves building automation solutions for testing, configuration, and operational workflows in SD-WAN and cloud/on-prem infrastructure environments.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities
- Design, Develop & maintain automation tools and scripts to support configuration, deployment, and validation of traffic management platforms using Python
- Implement automated testing frameworks for validating traffic shaping policies, performance behavior across various layers of applications, including UI, API, and backend systems.
- Support network modeling and performance validation activities by developing test scenarios and scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Create and maintain automation documentation, test procedures, and operational runbooks supporting CI/CD and automated deployments and test reporting.
- Monitor and troubleshoot automated test environments to ensure reliable execution of network validation and performance tests.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, reports, and process documentation.
- Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups, providing feedback and updates on testing progress.
- Continuously improve test automation processes and explore new tools and techniques.
Technical Skills
- Strong Python programming and scripting experience.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and API automation/testing.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks such as PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL/Vertica and SQL queries for data validation.
- Experience with Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in automation development, network testing, or infrastructure automation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with CI/CD and automated testing practices.
