Job Purpose
To perform diagnostic imaging procedures including MRI, CT, X-Ray, CBCT, OPG, and DEXA in accordance with prescribed medical standards, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Coordination
Explain procedures to patients and obtain required consent and screening forms prior to imaging.
Ensure proper patient preparation and positioning for accurate imaging across all modalities (MRI, CT, X-Ray, CBCT, OPG, DEXA).
Maintain strict patient confidentiality in line with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Handle emergency cases efficiently and assist the Radiologist during procedures when required.
Provide support in smooth patient flow and coordination within the department.
- Imaging Procedures (MRI / CT / X-Ray / CBCT / OPG / DEXA)
Perform imaging procedures as per prescribed protocols and anatomical requirements.
Ensure correct selection of imaging parameters to achieve optimal image quality and resolution.
Operate Specialized Imaging Including
CBCT (Cone Beam CT) for dental/maxillofacial imaging
OPG (Orthopantomogram) imaging
DEXA scans for bone mineral density assessment
Acquire, process, and organize image data in the required format for reporting.
Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical guidelines.
- Machine Operation & Maintenance
Operate all radiology equipment including MRI, CT, X-Ray, CBCT, OPG, and DEXA systems with full technical knowledge.
Ensure routine cleaning and upkeep of machines and surrounding work environment.
Maintain equipment logbooks and report any malfunction or maintenance requirements promptly.
Perform basic troubleshooting in coordination with the technical/maintenance team.
- Administrative Responsibilities
Ensure timely completion of documentation, reporting coordination, and billing processes.
Maintain accurate patient records and departmental documentation.
Support audit and compliance-related documentation as required.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and departmental standards across all imaging modalities.
Conduct and maintain records for Quality Control (QC) of all imaging equipment.
Prepare and maintain documentation as per regulatory authorities such as
AERB / BARC .
Maintain Records Including
Patient records
Equipment logbooks
Inventory (including isotopes, where applicable)
Ensure Radiation Safety Measures And Monitoring
Radiation monitoring
Personnel monitoring and record maintenance
Assist in obtaining necessary regulatory approvals (e.g., NOC, certifications).
Follow all radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines and safe handling practices across X-Ray, CT, CBCT, OPG, and DEXA modalities.
Use protective equipment and monitoring devices as mandated.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of MRI, CT, X-Ray, CBCT, OPG, and DEXA imaging techniques
Understanding of radiology equipment, calibration, and quality control procedures
Knowledge of radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance
Attention to detail and accuracy in imaging
Effective communication and patient handling skills
Ability to work in emergency and high-pressure situations
Educational Qualification & Experience
Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging Technology
Relevant experience in multi-modality imaging (MRI / CT / X-Ray / CBCT / OPG / DEXA) preferred
Registration with appropriate regulatory body (if applicable)
