Job Title: MPD Specialist

Job Description

The MPD Specialist creates and maintains Master Process Documents (MPDs) in alignment with global standards, ensuring accurate engineering documentation and seamless change management. This role focuses on building and updating MPDs for change management, work-in-progress (WIP), and IVER builds, while collaborating closely with design release engineers to resolve part and math issues. The position requires strong skills in illustration and product lifecycle management tools, as well as a solid understanding of vehicle anatomy and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create Master Process Documents (MPDs) in accordance with Global MPD Standards.
  • Develop MPDs for change management, work-in-progress (WIP), and IVER builds.
  • Create clear and accurate illustrations using Teamcenter and Vismockup to support process documentation.
  • Publish and release items in Teamcenter, ensuring correct configuration and version control.
  • Download and review the master part list (BOM) on a daily basis to maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Maintain engineering standards and support the standardization of documentation across projects.
  • Collaborate regularly with Design Release Engineers (DREs) to address math data and part-related issues.
  • Update trackers regularly to ensure accurate status reporting and traceability of tasks and issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for all reported customer issues and selected internal issues, and document findings.
  • Ensure that all process documents and related illustrations meet quality, completeness, and consistency requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience creating Master Process Documents (MPDs) using global or standardized MPD guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Teamcenter for item publishing, releasing, and product data management.
  • Proficiency with Vismockup for creating and reviewing 3D illustrations and visualizations.
  • Working knowledge of E2 and GPDS or similar engineering and product development systems.
  • Experience with Unigraphics (UG) or similar CAD tools for understanding and interpreting engineering data.
  • Strong illustration skills with the ability to create clear, process-focused visual content.
  • Knowledge of vehicle anatomy to accurately interpret and document vehicle-related processes and components.
  • Ability to perform structured root cause analysis for customer and internal issues.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining engineering standards and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to regularly update and manage trackers and documentation tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop for enhancing and refining technical illustrations.
  • Background in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with design and engineering teams, including Design Release Engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to issue investigation and resolution.
  • Good organizational skills to manage daily BOM downloads, document updates, and tracker maintenance.
  • Comfort working with structured processes and standardized documentation frameworks.

Work Environment

The role operates in a technology-driven engineering and documentation environment that relies heavily on PLM systems and digital tools, including Teamcenter, Vismockup, Unigraphics, and Adobe Photoshop. Work typically involves computer-based tasks such as creating illustrations, updating MPDs, managing BOM downloads, and maintaining trackers. Collaboration with design and engineering stakeholders occurs regularly through digital communication and shared systems. The position supports a structured, standards-focused culture where accuracy, consistency, and adherence to engineering and documentation standards are highly valued.
