Job Description

Job Role: Montessori Teacher

Location: DLF Phase 1, Gurgaon

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with the school's curriculum and Montessori philosophy.
  • Facilitate individualized learning by observing students interests, abilities, and developmental readiness.
  • Guide students through hands-on activities that promote conceptual understanding and practical application.
  • Foster literacy, numeracy, scientific thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through experiential learning.
  • Encourage inquiry, exploration, and independent thinking while providing appropriate guidance and support.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies where appropriate to enrich learning.

Classroom Environment

  • Prepare and maintain an organized, attractive, and engaging Montessori learning environment.
  • Ensure that Montessori materials and classroom resources are accessible, well maintained, and purposefully used.
  • Establish routines that promote independence, responsibility, collaboration, and respect.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom culture where every child feels valued.

Student Development

  • Observe and document each student's academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Support students in developing confidence, resilience, self-discipline, and positive relationships.
  • Encourage leadership, responsibility, and respect for others.
  • Work collaboratively with learning support teams when additional interventions are required.

Assessment and Documentation

  • Monitor student progress through continuous observation, portfolio assessments, and classroom-based evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student learning and development.
  • Prepare progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
  • Use assessment data to inform future planning and individualized support.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in professional development programmes and Montessori training.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum, share best practices, and enhance student learning.
  • Contribute to school events, exhibitions, assemblies, field trips, and co-curricular activities.
  • Uphold school policies, safeguarding practices, and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant discipline.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or another recognized Montessori training programme).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a Montessori or progressive primary school, preferably with Grades 1–3.
