About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior MongoDB Data Modeler with strong expertise in NoSQL database design, unstructured data modeling, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable MongoDB data models, optimizing query performance, and ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of large volumes of document-based data. This role requires close collaboration with application development, data engineering, and integration teams to build robust, high-performing MongoDB solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable MongoDB data models for unstructured and semi-structured data.
- Define optimal collection structures, document schemas, indexing strategies, and data access patterns.
- Develop and optimize MongoDB queries, aggregation pipelines, and database operations.
- Analyze query execution plans and perform performance tuning to improve database efficiency.
- Manage and monitor MongoDB Atlas environments, including cluster configuration, scaling, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database design with business and application requirements.
- Implement best practices for data consistency, scalability, availability, and maintainability.
- Support schema evolution, data migration initiatives, and model refactoring activities.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and recommend architectural improvements.
Required Skills
- 7–12 years of overall IT experience with significant hands-on experience in MongoDB.
- Strong expertise in MongoDB data modeling, including collections, documents, schema design, and indexing.
- Deep understanding of NoSQL database concepts and document-oriented design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, including cluster management, monitoring, scaling, and performance insights.
- Proven experience in query optimization, aggregation framework, and database performance profiling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design efficient and scalable solutions.
- Experience working with unstructured and semi-structured datasets.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-volume data environments.
- Exposure to data ingestion frameworks, APIs, and integration architectures.
- Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas security features, access controls, and governance practices.
- Understanding of data migration and modernization initiatives.
