Job Summary**
The Molding Jr. Engineer I at Jabil, Inc. supports the molding department by assisting with process optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining molding operations. This role is an entry-level engineering position focused on learning and applying fundamental molding principles.
Job Responsibilities**
- Assist senior engineers in optimizing injection molding processes, including setting up parameters, monitoring runs, and collecting data.
- Participate in troubleshooting molding defects and identifying root causes, collaborating with production and quality teams.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of preventative maintenance programs for molding equipment.
- Conduct basic statistical analysis of process data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the documentation of molding processes, work instructions, and engineering changes.
- Learn and apply principles of design for manufacturability (DFM) related to molded components.
- Support new product introductions by assisting with mold trials and validation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance to ensure efficient operations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Job Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with injection molding processes and machinery is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of plastic materials and their properties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Eagerness to learn and develop engineering skills in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
