Senior Project Manager - Hybrid Delivery (Traditional & Agile) (Insurance Transformation)

Years of Experience: 5-8 Years

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of transformative projects within the insurance sector. This role requires a strong understanding of both traditional and Agile methodologies, with a focus on establishing a hybrid delivery model that ensures successful project outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex projects, aligning cross-functional teams, and driving timely decision-making in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Own project delivery from initiation through go-live and stabilization, with full accountability for outcomes. Establish a hybrid delivery model, applying traditional controls for scope, budget, regulatory milestones, and vendor contracts alongside Agile practices for build, testing, and incremental releases. Maintain a single, integrated delivery plan that aligns Agile execution cycles with SteerCo and regulatory milestones.
  • Hybrid Planning & Execution: Define high-level delivery roadmaps (phases, releases, regulatory gates). Enable Agile teams to deliver through sprint-based execution, backlog prioritization aligned to business value, and incremental testing and validation. Ensure Agile delivery remains aligned to fixed external commitments (regulatory deadlines, go-live dates).
  • Governance & Stakeholder Leadership: Design and operate strong governance structures (SteerCo, weekly status updates, daily standups, etc.). Translate Agile progress into executive-level reporting (schedule, risk, financials). Act as the single point of accountability across business leadership, technology and data teams, and external vendors and system integrators. Drive timely decision-making and disciplined escalation.
  • Risk, Issue & Dependency Management: Own RAID management across traditional and Agile workstreams. Proactively manage cross-team and cross-vendor dependencies, data, regulatory, and environment risks, as well as Agile delivery risks (velocity, quality, scope creep). Lead recovery planning and corrective actions for at-risk delivery.
  • Financial & Commercial Control: Own project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls. Manage vendor commercials, change requests, and milestone-based payments. Balance Agile scope flexibility with financial discipline and audit expectations. Support budget approvals, reconciliations, and assurance activities.
  • Regulatory, Data & Compliance Alignment: Ensure delivery aligns with insurance regulatory and data protection requirements. Coordinate regulatory artifacts (PIAs, approvals, audit evidence). Ensure Agile outputs meet formal sign-off and traceability standards required in regulated environments.
  • Agile Enablement & Team Leadership: Enable Agile ways of working without compromising governance.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Proven project management experience with a focus on hybrid delivery models (Traditional & Agile).
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in RAID management and risk mitigation strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, PMI-ACP).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of project management experience, preferably in the insurance sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex projects with a hybrid delivery approach.
