Modular Furniture Designer

Role Description This is a part-time Modular Furniture Designer role based in Jaipur, structured as a hybrid position. The designer will create modular furniture concepts, develop detailed drawings, and refine designs based on client requirements and spatial constraints. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with interior designers and carpentry teams, selecting materials and finishes, and ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, and easy to assemble. The role also involves coordinating with suppliers, preparing basic project documentation, and supporting installation planning to maintain quality and consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Furniture Design and modular furniture systems, with an understanding of functional and aesthetic requirements.
• Hands-on knowledge of Carpentry and Furniture construction methods to ensure designs are realistic, durable, and manufacturable.
• Experience or exposure to Interior Design, including space planning, ergonomic considerations, and harmonizing furniture with overall interiors.
• Competence in Product Design principles, such as user-focused design, modularity, and efficient use of materials.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools) and the ability to produce clear technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to work in a hybrid environment with on-site and remote collaboration.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; ability to understand client needs and translate them into practical design solutions.
• Diploma or degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in modular furniture projects is an advantage.
