Job Description

We require a Moderator for the upcoming BookFair 2026, scheduled from 10th January to 18th January, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.

The moderator will be responsible for conducting author interviews, podcast-style conversations, and live engagement sessions at the BooksWagon stall. Since this role directly represents our brand to authors, publishers, and the audience, we need someone who meets the following criteria:

  • A keen and passionate reader
  • Preferably from a literature / publishing / book-related background
  • Fluent in English (excellent communication & articulation skills)
  • Confident, well-presented, and comfortable with public interactions
  • Able to engage authors in meaningful, insightful conversations
  • Dress Code: Formal attire throughout the BookFair

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, well-read, and articulate Moderator to host and conduct author interviews at the BooksWagon stall during BookFair 2026. This role involves live conversations, podcast-style interviews, author panels, and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct one-on-one interviews with authors across genres.
  • Host panel discussions and storytelling sessions.
  • Prepare discussion notes, research authors, and build interview flow.
  • Represent BooksWagon professionally in front of authors, publishers, and media.
  • Engage visitors and manage the flow of sessions.
  • Support the content team with short bites, reels, and live interactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Passionate and regular reader with familiarity across genres.
  • Preferably from a books, publishing, literature, or communications background.
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Confident presence on stage or camera.
  • Ability to converse naturally, ask insightful questions, and adapt during live sessions.
  • Good understanding of current authors, trends, and the publishing ecosystem.
Additional Details
  • The role is full-day, for nine days of the fair.
  • Candidate should maintain professional and polished formal attire throughout.
