Mobile Quality Assurance Engineer (Junior QA)

To prevent broken features, missed edge cases, and production surprises.

This role exists to protect release quality and support fast, disciplined shipping.

QA here is not an afterthought.

It is a gatekeeper role that ensures what ships actually works.

Core Responsibilities

1. Functional & Regression Testing (Primary)

Test mobile apps (Android & iOS) and backend features before every release

Execute test cases for new features, fixes, and improvements

Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not broken

Verify UI behaviour, states, and basic performance across devices

2. Bug Reporting & Verification

Identify, reproduce, and clearly document bugs

Write clear bug reports with steps, expected vs actual behaviour, screenshots/videos

Re-test fixes and confirm closure

Ensure critical issues are not missed before release

3. Release & Delivery Support

Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams

Validate builds before production release

Help enforce basic quality gates before shipping

Raise red flags early when quality is at risk

4. Quality Hygiene

Maintain test cases and basic QA documentation

Follow structured testing processes

Ensure nothing slips through due to lack of testing

Take ownership of assigned areas/modules

What this role is not

Not manual clicking without thinking

Not a passive just test what's given role

Not a documentation-only or reporting role

This role requires attention, ownership, and discipline.

Ideal Profile

1-4 years experience in manual QA testing OR

Internship or project experience in QA/testing

Strong understanding of SDLC and bug lifecycle

Familiar with:

Mobile app testing (Android / iOS)

Basic web/API testing concepts

Detail-oriented and methodical

Comfortable working with engineers

Able to communicate issues clearly and directly

Nice to Have

Experience testing mobile consumer apps

Basic knowledge of:

Jira / Bug tracking tools

Postman or API testing

Understanding of agile/sprint cycles

Exposure to regression testing and release cycles
