ATTENTION: Please do not apply without including links to apps you've shipped to the App Store and Google Play (this is the most important thing, we want to see live apps you built). We WILL NOT respond without them.
The Job
You will own the mobile layer. That means taking our products from web into production-grade iOS and Android apps, shipping them to the App Store and Google Play, and maintaining them as living products. You'll work against our existing backend (Next.js / tRPC / Postgres) and design system, and you'll be the person who says the app is done and it's live.
This is a hands-on building role, not a coordination role. You write the code, you test it on real devices, you handle the store submissions, and you keep the apps healthy in production.
What You'll Do
- Build, ship, and maintain our iOS and Android apps in React Native (Expo).
- Integrate the apps with our existing backend APIs (tRPC) and authentication (Clerk).
- Implement real-time features (live dispatch updates, notifications, maps/location).
- Own the full release pipeline: builds, signing, TestFlight, App Store and Google Play submissions, and the review process.
- Handle push notifications, deep linking, offline behavior, and device-specific edge cases.
- Profile and fix performance issues; debug production crashes using real crash/error data.
- Keep dependencies current and the codebase clean, typed, and maintainable.
- Report progress clearly and consistently — we value developers who communicate.
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of production React Native experience, with apps you have personally shipped to both the App Store and Google Play.
- Fluent in React Native and TypeScript — this is non-negotiable; we are not looking for someone learning the framework on the job.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Expo / EAS Build and the full mobile release lifecycle (certificates, provisioning, signing keys, store review).
- Strong with REST/typed API integration, authentication flows, and state management.
- Experience with push notifications, maps/geolocation, and real-time updates (sockets or similar).
- Comfortable testing on real physical devices and debugging device-specific issues across iOS and Android.
- Able to take a spec and ship it independently, then report back — minimal hand-holding.
- Clear written communication and disciplined daily updates.
- Experience with our stack: Next.js, tRPC, Drizzle, PostgreSQL, Clerk, Stripe.
- Mapbox / Google Maps SDK experience in a mobile context.
- Background working with logistics, dispatch, on-demand, or marketplace apps.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows (feature branches, pull requests) and CI/CD.
- Experience integrating AI/voice features into mobile apps.
How We Work
- Remote, with clear daily communication and progress reporting.
- You work in an isolated staging environment on a feature branch — you build, we review, we merge and deploy to production. You own the app build; we own the production gate.
- We use modern tooling and AI to move fast, but the mobile architecture, device testing, and shipping decisions are yours.
- We expect proof of work: real device testing, screen recordings, and working builds — not it should work.
About Us
Tarlton Technologies is a multi-vertical, AI-powered software company. We build and operate our own products end to end on a modern, sovereign stack — no white-label, no shortcuts. Our flagship, Road Rescue Network, powers 24/7 dispatch across the country, and we're scaling a family of platforms behind it. We move fast, we own our code, and we ship.
We're looking for a senior React Native developer to own our mobile apps — build them, ship them to the stores, and keep them running.
To Apply:
Send us:
- Links to apps you've shipped to the App Store and Google Play (this is the most important thing, we want to see live apps you built). We WILL NO
- A short note on a hard mobile problem you solved and how. Applications without links to shipped apps will not be considered.
Tarlton Technologies is an equal opportunity employer. We hire on skill, experience, and the ability to ship.
