Work Policy: 100% in-office

Joining Date: Immediately

Minimum Experience: 2-3 yrs, Master's degree is preferred

About the Role

We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking a motivated Mission Planning Engineer to support the architecture & constellation planning, ISL for our fleet. This dual-focused role will require modelling dynamic inter-satellite communication mesh topologies and also working on the spacecraft constellation planning, delta-v budgeting, and Launch regulation coordination. You will play a vital role in mapping mission requirements, orbit design, lifetime analysis etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Geometric & Network Topology Planning: Model and map dynamic inter-satellite links (ISL), establishing routing reach across intra-plane (same plane) and inter-plane (cross plane) paths for a 250+ satellite mesh.
  • Constellation Analysis: Work on carrying out extended analysis on STK to decide orbital parameters according to user requirements, environmental factors, and SSA.
  • Space Situational Awareness: Develop SSA strategies, radiation analysis and mitigation strategies. Propulsion budgeting and developing strategies to reduce propulsion needed for spacecraft operations is also needed.
  • CONOPS &Operational Modes Definition: Help design cross-segment architecture maps (space, ground, user segments) and mathematically define the network logic, entry/exit criteria, and operational state transitions (e.g., LEOP, commissioning, routing, anomaly modes, and EOL).
  • Orbital events and state planning: Work with satellite platform development team in deciding spacecraft states, their entry and exit methods.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Space, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of 3D geometry, orbital mechanics, delta v budgeting, and workings of satellite-to-satellite link.
  • Familiarity with network routing topologies, communication protocol is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in STK, Solidworks/Catia, Python, MATLAB, or industry-standard systems engineering simulation tools.
  • Excellent documentation skills with an ability to generate clear engineering reports, flowcharts, and state-machine schematics.
  • Strong collaborative skills to translate complex physical launch constraints and network logic into high-level mission planning architecture.

Why Join Us

  • Build the future of global navigation - Be the part of the revolution, work on a mission that redefines how the world connects, navigates, and operates in the new age.
  • Be part of the founding journey - shape the architecture of a global satellite constellation from the ground up and work directly with the Founding Team at VyomIC.
  • Collaborate with High Profile advisors - learn from and engage with senior experts who bring decades of experience.
  • High-impact, high-ownership role - your work directly influences real-world systems that demand precision, security, and scale.
  • Work alongside a world-class team - collaborate with experts across astrodynamics, signal processing, embedded systems, mission operations, ETC.
  • Grow with the mission - as the constellation scales, so do your opportunities for leadership, innovation, and long-term career growth.
