Role Summary: The Modern Trade MIS professional will be responsible for end-to-end data management, reporting, and analysis of Modern Trade business. The role supports leadership by providing accurate, timely, and actionable insights on sales, margins, promotions, inventory, and claims to drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Sales & Business Performance Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS for Modern Trade accounts
- Track primary billing, secondary sales, and off-take by chain, store, SKU, and region
- Monitor achievement vs targets, LY, and growth trends
- Support new product launch performance analysis
- Margin & Profitability Analysis
- Track chain-wise margins including front-end and back-end margins
- Analyze scheme impact on net realizations and profitability
- Highlight margin deviations and potential leakage
- Promotion & Scheme Management MIS
- Track promotion plans vs actual performance
- Measure promo effectiveness and ROI
- Monitor scheme compliance across Modern Trade partners
- Inventory & Supply Chain Reporting
- Monitor depot stock, stock-in-trade (SIT), and pipeline inventory
- Track inventory ageing, slow-moving SKUs, and expiry risks
- Report on fill rate, OSA, and stock availability issues
- Claims, Returns & Reconciliation
- Track sales returns, damages, and expiry claims
- Validate debit notes and coordinate claim closure with finance
- Maintain claims ageing and closure MIS
- Data Accuracy & Governance
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data received from MT partners
- Maintain SOPs for MIS reporting and data validation
- Ensure timely circulation of reports to stakeholders
- Management Reporting & Insights
- Prepare dashboards and presentations for senior management
- Provide actionable insights, risks, and opportunities
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and annual business planning

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred)
- Understanding of Modern Trade business economics
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, SCM, and Marketing
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
