The Opportunity

Acumen is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical MIS Analyst (FP&A) to join our Finance team. The role will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting by delivering accurate financial insights and meaningful business intelligence.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and experience in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making and improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. MIS Reporting & Financial Analysis

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly MIS reports for management.
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards and automated reporting tools.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for business decision-making.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Assist in preparing financial models and budget templates.
• Monitor budget utilisation and highlight significant variances.
• Work with business teams to gather inputs for planning cycles.

3. Financial Planning & Variance Analysis

• Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Prepare insightful reports explaining financial performance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Support monthly financial reviews with business stakeholders.

4. Dashboard Development & Data Management

• Create and maintain MIS dashboards using Excel and other reporting tools.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across reports.
• Automate repetitive reporting processes wherever possible.
• Support data reconciliation and validation activities.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with the FP&A, Finance, and business teams during planning cycles.
• Understand reporting requirements and recommend process improvements.
• Provide timely financial information to support strategic business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
• 2–4 years of experience in MIS Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or Financial Reporting.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting is essential.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools will be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, Advanced Formulas, Dashboards).
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
• Ability to interpret financial data and present meaningful insights.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools will be an added advantage.
