Qualification, Experience & Desired Skills:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mining Engineering with First Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (Metal)
- 12-15 years of experience in mechanized open-cast metal mining operations.
- Exposure to bauxite mining operations, mine planning, statutory compliance, safety management, and contractor management.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, stakeholder management, and operational excellence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mining Operations & Products
- This is Statutory Mine's Manager position and incumbent is expected to deliver duties of mine's manger as defined in Statue.
- Plan, direct, and supervise all mining activities to achieve production, quality, and development targets.
- Ensure efficient excavation, loading, hauling, crushing, ore dispatch, mine development, bench formation, haul road maintenance, Dump management and drainage management.
- Optimize utilization of mining equipment, manpower, and resources to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
2. Safety, Statutory & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, Rules MMR-1961, DGMS regulations, Environmental Clearance (EC), Forest Clearance (FC), CTO conditions, and Vedanta safety standards (VSAP).
- Implement and monitor Safety Management Plans (SMP), HIRA, JSA, emergency preparedness, and risk control measures.
- Lead safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions to promote a Zero Harm culture.
- Monitor environmental management initiatives including waste management, dust suppression, water conservation, mine reclamation, and progressive mine closure activities.
3. People & Contractor Management
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of mining professionals, supervisors, operators, and contractors.
- Drive workforce productivity, competency development, and performance management.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety, statutory, and operational requirements.
4. Planning, Cost Control & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and monitor annual, monthly, and weekly production plans and budgets.
- Control mining costs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational performance.
- Coordinate with geology, mechanical, electrical, and commercial teams for smooth mine operations.
- Liaise with DGMS, IBM, State Mining Department, Pollution Control Board, local administration, and community stakeholders.
