Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Millwork Design & Estimator with strong expertise in Kitchen & Bath Design, Design 2020, and Bluebeam.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing custom kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, and millwork projects, preparing accurate estimates and material take-offs, reviewing construction drawings, and supporting projects from design through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed Kitchen & Bath designs based on client requirements, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
- Develop floor plans, elevations, 3D views, cabinet layouts, and detailed millwork designs using Design 2020.
- Prepare accurate cabinet and millwork layouts, including dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, and accessories.
- Review architectural, interior, and construction drawings using Bluebeam Revu.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and plans using Bluebeam.
- Prepare BOQ/MTO and project estimates for cabinetry, millwork, countertops, hardware, materials, labor, and installation.
- Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations based on project drawings and specifications.
- Analyze project drawings to identify scope, quantities, materials, and potential design conflicts.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, designers, contractors, vendors, and production teams.
- Make revisions to designs based on client or project requirements.
- Ensure designs are practical for manufacturing, installation, and site conditions.
- Assist in selecting appropriate cabinetry, materials, finishes, countertops, hardware, and accessories.
- Prepare detailed documentation for production and installation teams.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier/vendor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Support value engineering and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Maintain project files, drawings, estimates, revisions, and related documentation.
- Ensure all designs and estimates are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
Required Technical Skills
Design 2020
- Strong hands-on experience with Design 2020.
- Ability to create kitchen and bathroom layouts.
- Experience creating cabinet elevations, floor plans, 3D renderings, and detailed designs.
- Knowledge of cabinet construction, styles, dimensions, and specifications.
- Ability to generate accurate design-related reports and project documentation.
Bluebeam Revu
- Strong working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu.
- Ability to review architectural/construction drawings.
- Experience with measurement and quantity take-offs.
- Ability to use markup, measurement, annotations, layers, and drawing comparison tools.
- Ability to extract project information and quantities accurately from PDF drawings.
Kitchen & Bath Design
- Strong understanding of kitchen and bathroom layouts and functionality.
- Knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, hardware, fixtures, and accessories.
- Understanding of standard cabinet dimensions and clearances.
- Ability to design according to client requirements while considering functionality, aesthetics, and constructability.
- Experience with custom and semi-custom cabinetry is preferred.
Estimation Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed material take-offs (MTO) and BOQs.
- Calculate quantities for cabinets, panels, fillers, moldings, countertops, hardware, accessories, and other millwork components.
- Estimate material, labor, fabrication, finishing, delivery, and installation costs.
- Review vendor and supplier quotations.
- Identify project scope and exclusions.
- Prepare accurate and competitive project quotations.
- Review drawings and specifications for changes that may affect project costs.
- Assist with change-order pricing and revised estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Woodworking, Construction, or a related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in Kitchen & Bath Design, Cabinet Design, Millwork Design, or Estimation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Design 2020 and Bluebeam Revu.
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen and bath cabinetry and millwork.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Good understanding of materials, hardware, finishes, and cabinet construction.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills for estimating and quantity take-offs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
