Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Windchill Migration Architect to lead and design enterprise-scale migration programs involving PTC Windchill PLM environments. The candidate will be responsible for migration strategy, architecture design, data transformation, system integration, performance optimization, and governance throughout the migration lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Migration Strategy & Architecture
- Define end-to-end migration architecture for PTC Windchill implementations and upgrades.
- Assess existing PLM environments, data quality, customizations, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Develop migration roadmaps, methodologies, and best practices.
- Design migration frameworks for large-scale product data, documents, CAD data, BOMs, and metadata.
Data Migration
- Lead extraction, transformation, validation, and loading (ETL) activities.
- Define data cleansing and data governance strategies.
- Establish migration rules for:
- Parts and assemblies
- CAD documents
- WTDocuments
- Change objects (ECR, ECO, ECN)
- BOM structures
- Classification data
- Lifecycle states
- User and organization data
- Ensure data integrity and traceability throughout migration.
Technical Leadership
- Architect migration solutions using Windchill APIs, loaders, and migration tools.
- Guide development teams on migration scripts, automation, and validation frameworks.
- Troubleshoot complex migration issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Define cutover, rollback, and deployment strategies.
Integration & Customization
- Analyze impacts on integrations with:
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- CAD systems (Creo, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks)
- MES and manufacturing applications
- Enterprise middleware platforms
- Ensure compatibility of customizations and workflows during migration.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, PLM administrators, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Conduct architecture reviews and migration readiness assessments.
- Present migration plans, risks, and status updates to leadership.
- Establish migration KPIs and success criteria.
