Middleware WebSphere Administrator

Responsibilities :

• Apart from L1 activities, L2 will help L1 in any of the activities.
• Installation and configuration of WebSphere and IBM http servers.
• Creation of Data sources, Clusters and adding of servers to cluster.
• Creation of JMS servers, Deployment activities.
• Trouble shooting application slowness and provide the necessary action plans.
• Creation of CR for configuration changes on servers.
• Applying Security Patches.
• Creation of POA and roll back plans for any changes.
• To make configuration related changes.
• Preparation & making necessary changes on servers for DR Drill Activities
• To work on closure towards Hardening and VA related points.
• Migration and Upgradation of WebSphere and IBM/Apache http server.
• Creation and renewal of SSL Certificates.
• Integration of WebSphere with webserver IBM/Apache http server
• To Stop and Start the WebSphere Standalone and Cluster servers as per SOP.
• To monitor Heap size and check for the logs for out of Memory.
• To take thread dump and provide to concern person.
• Check for Middleware related OS parameters like disk space utilization, open files, Nproc and CPU utilization.
• Checking and closing tickets.
• Sharing of application related logs and files.
• Monitoring of IBM http server /Apache Http server or checking for any 500 or 404 errors.
• Sharing of Access and error related logs of WebSphere and IBM http server/apache http servers.
• Shadowing L2 engineer if any changes being made on servers
