Position Summary
The Enterprise Middleware team is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical middleware platforms supporting core enterprise applications.
We are seeking a Middleware Administrator (7–10 years experience) with strong expertise in WebSphere, JBoss (WildFly), Apache, and AWS EKS to support ongoing operations and drive cloud modernization initiatives.
This role will also contribute to mentoring junior team members, supporting automation initiatives, and ensuring platform stability across hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
Administer And Support Middleware Platforms:
IBM WebSphere Application Server
JBoss / WildFly
Apache HTTP Server
MQ
IIS
Manage Middleware Workloads On AWS EKS (Kubernetes):
Container deployments, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Docker image lifecycle and platform upgrades
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning across environments
Support application deployments and release activities across Dev, QA, and Production
Ensure 24x7 Platform Stability Through:
Incident resolution, problem management, and RCA
Proactive monitoring and alert response
Drive automation and scripting initiatives to improve operational efficiency
(e.g., deployments, environment provisioning, health checks)
Collaborate With Application, Infrastructure, And Cloud Teams On:
Migration of on-prem middleware to AWS
Containerization and platform modernization
Mentor and guide junior team members, providing knowledge transfer and support
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
Required Qualifications
7–10 years of experience in Middleware Administration / Platform Engineering
Strong Hands-on Experience With:
WebSphere Application Server
JBoss / WildFly
Apache HTTP Server
Experience With AWS Cloud, Including:
Amazon EKS (Kubernetes)
Docker and containerization concepts
Strong Knowledge Of:
Middleware architecture and troubleshooting
Linux/Unix systems
Experience In:
Production support (L2/L3), incident management, and RCA
Scripting/automation skills (Shell, Python, or similar)
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience With:
IBM MQ administration
Software AG webMethods administration
Familiarity With:
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certification (Solutions Architect / DevOps / SysOps preferred)
Experience With:
Cloud migration and modernization programs
Hybrid (on-prem + AWS) environments
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
