State Street's Investment Manager Services (IMS) division supports global asset managers with comprehensive middle-office solutions. As part of the dedicated Key Client Performance Team, the Manager will lead daily oversight, validation, and delivery of performance, attribution, and analytical outputs. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, deep understanding of investment performance methodologies, and the ability to manage complex client requirements in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality performance reporting for multiple Client portfolios, partnering closely with global stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams.

Booking & Settlement Oversight (IMS)

  • Provide endtoend oversight of IMS booking and settlement activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete processing across the trade lifecycle.
  • Monitor daily operational processes, controls, and exception queues maintain a handson leadership approach, stepping in to execute critical tasks where coverage or risk mitigation is required.
  • Ensure consistent application and ongoing adherence to global standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the IMS model.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex booking and settlement issues, coordinating resolution with Clients, Brokers, Custodians, and internal support teams.

Client Delivery & Reporting

  • Deliver booking, settlement status, and operational performance reporting within agreed SLAs, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Provide clear, actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders, explaining settlement breaks, booking discrepancies, failed trades, and root causes.
  • Manage and resolve adhoc client queries related to IMS booking and settlements with strong ownership and timely communication.

Governance, Controls & Quality

  • Maintain robust control frameworks covering trade booking, settlements, position management, and cash movements within IMS.
  • Lead break investigations, rootcause analysis, and corrective action planning, driving sustainable fixes and control enhancements.
  • Ensure full compliance with State Street policies, clientspecific standards, and internal/external audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify operational risks and ensure effective issue tracking, escalation, and closure.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and manage a team of analysts responsible for IMS booking, settlement processing, and validation activities.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to build deep product and process expertise within the team.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for daytoday delivery, quality, and performance issues.
  • Partner closely with global stakeholders across Accounting, Reconciliation, Custody, Front Office support, and Technology to ensure seamless service delivery.

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify and drive opportunities to automate, streamline, and standardize IMS booking and settlement processes using tools such as Alteryx, Python, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
  • Support IMS transformation initiatives, including operating model evolution, client change requests, system upgrades, and data enhancements.
  • Strengthen operational resilience and scalability through documentation, standardization, crosstraining, and workflow optimization.

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Graduate or PostGraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Experience

10+ years of strong experience within Investment Operations, with a focus on IMS or Middle Office booking and settlements.

Proven expertise across Trade Lifecycle Management and broader Investment Operations.

Product and market knowledge across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and ExchangeTraded Derivatives, including Global Markets exposure.

Product experience desirable in:

  • Developed and Emerging Market Government Bonds
  • Corporate Bonds and Convertibles
  • FX Spot and Forwards
  • ExchangeTraded Futures and Options
  • Repurchase Agreements (Repos)
  • ETFs

Technical Skills

  • Strong global markets knowledge, including SWIFT standards and PACS messaging.
  • Advanced Excel skills working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Python, or automation tools preferred.
  • Experience handling large data sets, performing data integrity checks, and managing operational risk controls.

  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
