Job Title: Vice President - Corporate Actions, Middle Office
Role Summary:
The Vice President - Corporate Actions, Middle Office, will lead a global team responsible for the accurate and timely management of corporate actions across multiple markets and clients within State Street's Global Delivery organization. This role is critical to ensuring a controlled environment, operational excellence, and service delivery consistency aligned with State Street's Alpha and Simplification strategy.
The incumbent will partner closely with global stakeholders across Custody, Fund Accounting, Client Service, Product, and Technology to drive transformation, automation, and risk reduction within the corporate actions lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership
- Lead end-to-end corporate actions processing across announcement capture, event validation, client notification, elections, and entitlement postings.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of both mandatory and voluntary events across equity and fixed income products.
- Oversee daily production, capacity, and control metrics, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support global operating model alignment across India, Poland, Ireland, and the U.S. for consistency and scalability.
2. Risk, Control & Governance
- Maintain a robust control environment, ensuring all reconciliations, exception management, and break resolutions are completed within defined timelines.
- Oversee custody and accounting reconciliations, ensuring alignment of OFACE, PAR, and accounting records to prevent downstream impact.
- Drive root-cause analysis for operational errors, implement preventive controls, and manage issue remediation in collaboration with Risk and Compliance.
- Participate in internal/external audits, ensuring full documentation and evidence of controls.
3. People Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of managers and analysts foster a performance-driven culture that promotes accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Drive employee engagement, development, and retention through structured coaching and succession planning.
- Partner with HR and Learning teams to enhance corporate actions domain capability across levels.
4. Client and Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior operational contact for key clients, resolving escalations and providing transparency through regular governance updates.
- Partner with Fund Accounting, Custody, and Client Operations to ensure seamless event processing and reconciliation.
- Liaise with Technology and Transformation teams to define requirements for automation, workflow tools, and data management enhancements.
5. Strategic Initiatives & Simplification
- Champion simplification and automation initiatives to reduce manual touchpoints, improve STP, and enhance productivity.
- Support Alpha and Global Delivery Simplification programs to align middle office processes with target-state architecture.
- Contribute to global transformation projects, including process re-engineering, robotics (RPA), and system migrations.
- Manage change governance, ensuring smooth transition and minimal operational disruption during new client onboarding or product rollout.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 12-18 years of experience in Corporate Actions / Asset Servicing Operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of global markets, custody operations, and accounting flows (OFACE/PAR alignment).
- Proven experience managing risk and control frameworks in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Exposure to State Street systems (SMARTS, CAMEL, GIO, IMS, GX, MCH, GPS) preferred.
- Experience in process transformation, automation (RPA/Alteryx), and simplification initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree required MBA or professional qualification (CFA, FRM, CPA) preferred.
