Mid Specialist - Pharma & Biotech

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, constituted under the Department for Promotion of

Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. As the national investment promotion and facilitation agency, Invest India is

dedicated to sector-specific investor targeting and fostering strategic partnerships to drive sustainable investments in the country. Under the Pharma

and Biotech Sector vertical, we are seeking to onboard a senior specialist who will play a key role in supporting the team across a range of strategic

and operational activities as outlined in the responsibilities section.

Key Responsibilities: The Senior Specialist will be responsible for supporting the team in executing strategies aimed at promoting investments in the

Pharma and Biotech sectors and facilitating potential investment opportunities. The role entails close coordination with key stakeholders, including

the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) & other relevant

ministries and departments, industry associations, and private sector entities to drive investment promotion, facilitation, and policy advocacy efforts.

The incumbent will report to the Team Lead – Pharmaceutical and Biotech Sector.

• Work in close coordination with the team lead to plan and ensure impeccable execution of Invest India sector strategy & engagement plan for the

year.

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive repository of credible sources to systematically track scientific developments in the Pharma & Biotech

sectors, emerging investment signals from global investors, domestic policy and regulatory amendments at both the central and state levels, as well as

tracking notable best practices and sectoral initiatives.

• Support & guide sector team in preparation of high-quality research reports, market analyses, pitch presentations, DPRs and briefing notes.

• Formulate and implement strategies to enhance awareness and foster entrepreneurship across the Pharma & Biotech sectors, with a focus on

promoting innovation, capacity building, and sustainable enterprise development.

• Coordinate with stakeholders for planning and organising roundtables, workshops, roadshows etc.

• Facilitate engagement and enablement of investors in the Pharma & Biotech sectors, while contributing effectively to the achievement of client

objectives and strategic outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-graduate or graduate degree in Pharmacy/Biotechnology and related streams from a premier university in India/abroad

• 6+ years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank / investment promotion agency /

global corporate working in the Pharma/Lifesciences/Biotechnology sector

• Experience in preparing DPRs, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports for senior officials/CXOs.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within teams while taking proactive ownership and accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables

• Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism

• Excellent communication, people and analytical skills

• Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects
