Mid Specialist - Pharma and Biotech

About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate will be responsible for supporting the team in executing strategies aimed at promoting investments in the Pharma and Biotech sectors and facilitating potential investment opportunities. The role entails close coordination with key stakeholders, including the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) & other relevant ministries and departments, industry associations, and private sector entities, to drive investment promotion, facilitation, and policy advocacy efforts. The incumbent will report to the Team Lead Pharmaceutical and Biotech Sector.

Work in close coordination with team lead to ensure execution of the strategy of the team or a project.

Establish and maintain a comprehensive repository to systematically track developments in the Pharma & Biotech sectors, encompassing emerging investment signals, policy and regulatory amendments at both the central and state levels, as well as notable best practices and sectoral initiatives.

Support & guide team in preparation of high-quality research, reports, pitch presentation, DPR and briefing notes required for specific projects.

Formulate and implement strategies to enhance awareness and foster entrepreneurship across the Pharma & Biotech sectors, with a focus on promoting innovation, capacity building, and sustainable enterprise development.

Coordinate with stakeholders for organising roundtables, workshops, roadshows etc.

Facilitate engagement and enablement of investors in the Pharma & Biotech sectors, while contributing effectively to the achievement of client objectives and strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

Post-graduate or graduate degree in Pharmacy/Biotechnology and related streams.

4+ years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank / investment promotion agency / global corporate working in Pharma/Lifesciences/Biotechnology sectors

Experience of preparing DPRs, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports

Ability to collaborate effectively within teams while taking proactive ownership and accountability for assigned tasks and deliverables

Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism

Excellent communication, people and analytical skills

Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects
