Job Description

• The Microsoft Security Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising enterprise Microsoft security solutions that help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity posture across hybrid and cloud environments.
• This role partners with enterprise customers to deliver modern security architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles, enabling secure identity, endpoint, cloud, data, and threat protection.
• Working closely with customers, solution architects, and delivery teams, the consultant leads security assessments, solution design, implementation, and operational improvement initiatives using Microsoft's security portfolio, including Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Purview.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end Microsoft security solutions across identity, endpoint, cloud, data protection, SIEM, and Extended Detection & Response (XDR).
• Deploy, configure, and optimise Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Purview.
• Configure identity and access management controls, including Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Identity Governance, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and hybrid identity protection.
• Develop and enhance threat detection and response capabilities using Microsoft Sentinel, SIEM/SOAR integrations, Kusto Query Language (KQL), analytics rules, workbooks, and automation playbooks.
• Implement data protection and compliance solutions, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, data classification, insider risk management, and cloud security posture management.
• Conduct security assessments, architecture reviews, customer workshops, and advisory sessions to improve organisational security maturity.
• Investigate security incidents, perform threat hunting, and recommend remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Microsoft security solutions into enterprise environments.
• Produce technical documentation, implementation guides, and security best practice recommendations.
• Support customer engagements by providing technical expertise during solution design, proof of concepts (PoCs), and implementation activities.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in cybersecurity consulting, security engineering, or enterprise security implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Purview.
• Solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture and Microsoft security best practices.
• Experience implementing identity security, endpoint protection, cloud security, and data protection solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure security services and hybrid identity environments.
• Experience implementing and managing SIEM/SOAR platforms, threat detection, incident response, and threat hunting.
• Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL), analytics rules, automation playbooks, and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and Microsoft Security Adoption Framework.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders throughout the security transformation lifecycle.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100).
• Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200).
• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300).
• Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, or equivalent are desirable.
